I'm trying to convert coordinates of monuments from an Israeli database.
The values looks like:

**3,915,645.551 3,733,650.008**

I want to convert these for mapping but I can't figure out what system this is using.

Using the correct system you should find this point is in the grounds of an Israeli public institution.

Can you find it?
Can you recommend a conversion algorithm?

TIA

Hi elidata,

Can you provide me with a set of coordinates for this point near the institution. For example, in web Mercator 1984, please manually place a point relative to where this dot SHOULD be so I have a better point of reference. From there I can narrow down a list of possible coordinates.

Best,

Frank

Israel uses/used various projection systems, all metric, like:
  • Transverse Mercator / EPSG
  • Israeli Cassini Soldner
In addition, they used 2 grid origins (old and new).

Therefore, I suggest you provide a latitude and longitude of the location. Without that, it will be hard to say anything.
